One person was fatally injured following a crash involving an SUV and a Santa’s Wonderland bus. The accident occurred in College Station early yesterday morning, at about 12:20 a.m., on the northbound lanes of Highway 6 near Harvey Mitchell Parkway.

College Station officials say that the crash occurred when an SUV driving the wrong way struck the bus head-on near the Post Oak Mall. The bus caught fire as a result of the collision.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, and the passenger was transported to a nearby hospital, where she is in serious condition.

The driver of the bus was also severely injured, and was transported to a nearby hospital via helicopter in critical condition. There were also two passengers on the bus at the time of the crash. The passengers sustained mild injuries.

Officials are still working to determine whether or not intoxication was a factor.
