One person has died following a deadly 18-wheeler accident on I-10. The accident occurred just before noon, in the eastbound lanes of I-10 near Dairy Ashford.

Officials say it appears that the accident occurred when the 18-wheeler, heading east on I-10, collided with a passenger vehicle. It is unclear as to what exactly led up to the crash, and if the person who died was in the car or in the 18-wheeler.

The Houston Police Department reported that all eastbound lanes were blocked at 12:20 this afternoon as first responders work to clear the scene of the accident. Some traffic is getting through via the shoulder of the HOV lanes, but police recommend drivers seek out an alternate route as they work to investigate the collision.
