A few of the westbound lanes of I-10 near Wayside following a crash involving a big rig. The 18-wheeler struck the railroad bridge over I-10 last night at about 8 p.m.

In the collision, the truck lost a load of large spools, several of which remain on the freeway. Authorities are still working to determine what caused the 18-wheeler to hit the I-10 bridge.

The Texas Department of Transportation reported it may be several hours before the spools are removed from the freeway, and that drivers should expect major delays in the area.
