Traffic was backed up for more than nine miles from a crash caused by an 18-wheeler that flipped on I-10 in Beaumont. The accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-10 at Major Drive, in Beaumont, at about 7:45 a.m. yesterday morning.

Police state the accident occurred when the driver of the 18-wheeler, a 25-year-old man, failed to drive in a single lane. The 18-wheeler ran off the road onto the right shoulder, where it then flipped into the ditch.

The 18-wheeler, a 2021 Peterbilt semi-trailer, was the only vehicle involved in the collision, and no injuries were reported. Officials reported that traffic was backed up for nine miles following the crash. The driver of the 18-wheeler was issued a citation by Beaumont police for failure to drive in a single lane.
