One Dead and Several Injured in 8-Car Accident on I-10 in Sealy

On Monday, an 8-car pileup accident in Sealy resulted in one fatality and injuries for several other drivers.

The San Felipe Police Department reported that a vehicle had a tire blowout and had stopped in the middle of the road. Oncoming vehicles were trying to avoid the car, stopping behind it, but an 18-wheeler was unable to brake in time and collided with the stopped cars, causing the fatal 8-car pileup accident in Sealy, Texas.

An 89-year-old man in one of the vehicles between the stopped car and the 18-wheeler suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the accident. Three other people were non-fatally injured and hospitalized, with 14 people total involved in the 8-car accident.

Videos and photos of the accident posted by the San Felipe Police Department show multiple cars smashed together, with one SUV laying on top of another car. Traffic was closed eastbound on I-10 near FM 1458 at mile marker 723 for several hours, but the scene was cleared soon after.
